Tristach lies in the Dolomites of Lienz near the Tristach Lake, the only swimming lake in East Tyrol

The holiday village of Tristach lies in the middle of the impressive mountain landscape of the Dolomites of Lienz and is only about 3 km distant from the city of Lienz. This is the perfect destination for very pleasant walking tours through meadows and woods, hiking tours in the Hohe Tauern nature park and some challenging fixed rope tours to the peaks of the Dolomites of Lienz … no matter what you prefer: the breathtaking panorama is everywhere!
The many walking and hiking trails lead you from mountain hut to mountain hut, where you can enjoy the very tasty Tyrolean cuisine or just have a rest on your tour. Tristach boasts more than 90 km of trails of every type and difficulty. Furthermore, there are sports fields, climbing gardens and tennis courts.
The most popular destination of Tristach is undoubtedly the Tristach Lake with its bathing beach, café with terrace and beach volley court. The Tristach Lake is the only swimming lake in East Tyrol. From the beginning of July to the end of August a free shuttle service runs between Lienz and Tristach.
In winter, Tristach attracts with its wonderful snowy landscape, a 4 km long natural toboggan run with an altitude difference of 944 meters and Lake Tristach, which in winter transforms itself in a huge ice skating rink.
