The enchanting mountain village of Lavant in the Lienz Dolomites at the border to Carinthia is popular with golf players

Lavant lies only 8 km from Lienz in the Drautal Valley and is embedded in the stunning and romantic landscape of the Lienz Dolomites. The so-called Lavanter Kirchbichl, a holy place in Tyrol, is depicted on the coat of arms of the village.

Winter sports lovers will spend unforgettable holidays as the winter season lasts until late March. The Zettersfeld and Lienzer Bergbahnen skiing areas are easily accessible from the village. In Lavant you can also practise ice skating, sledding and cross-country skiing. Children will have fun at the beautiful playground.

The Golf Club Dolomitengolf in Lavant, a 36-hole golf curse embedded in the magnificent landscape of the Lienz Dolomites, attracts passionate golfers from everywhere. The facility is complete with a clubhouse with terrace, a driving range and a golf school.

The village also features tennis courts, a cycle track and an athletics field. Culture lovers should definitely visit the Maria Lavant Sanctuary from 1770 which houses precious frescoes and paintings, as well as the St. Peter and Paul church.
