The 3 Cime region includes the Alta Pusteria with the municipalities of Villabassa, San Candido, Dobbiaco, Braies and Sesto. The Tre Cime di Lavaredo are undoubtedly the most important natural attraction of the area.
The wonderful natural landscape of Alta Pusteria can be discovered in the Fanes-Senes-Braies nature park, at Lago di Braies, the pearl of the Dolomites, and Lake Dobbiaco which are also popular summer hiking destinations. Gustav Mahler, a famous composer, expressed his appreciation for the natural landscape around Dobbiaco, where he owned a hut. The Tre Cime Dolomiti skiing area in the Sesto Dolomites features several best-prepared ski slopes, as well as special areas for children.
The Gustav Mahler Music Weeks, the Dolomiti Balloon Festival and the International Snow Sculpture Festival are only some of the most famous events you shouldn't miss.
