Alta Pusteria Int. Choir Festival

The choirs, their singing and the very special scenes delight the visitors year after year

Singing unifies – a festival for music enthusiasts

Every year, during the end of June the
Alta Pusteria International Choir Festival takes place in the Val Pusteria. Up to 60 concerts and open air revues are performed. The festival is a non competitive event. Priority is given to fun in singing and coming together. The performances are divided into: sacred/clerical, Polyphony, folk-songs, opera, spiritual, gospel and jazz.

There are different kinds of concerts which are performed within the festival:

  • Concerts: these are indoor concerts in the evenings. Scenes are churches and concert halls, mountain huts and castles.
  • Open air revues: they are divided into “Choirs at the square” and “Nights of the Choirs” and enjoy great popularity.
  • Meeting-Days: they take place in the big halls in the valleys and include performances of several choirs in succession.

The gorgeous sceneries of the Val Pusteria, e.g. the Lago di Braies or the Lago di Anterselva, castles and up to 40 different places of event between Brunico and Sillian frame the festival with their beauty.

Next edition: from June, 12th to June, 16th, 2024
