MMM Corones

The MMM Corones on the Plan de Corones was opened in the summer of 2015 and is the most recent and last one of the six Messner Mountain Museums

In occasion of the museum's inauguration in summer 2015, Reinhold Messner stated: "The MMM Corones on the Plan de Corones at 2,275 m a.s.l. - between Valdaora, Brunico and the Val Badia - with its stunning panoramic view of the Dolomites, is the last one of my mountain museums. This museum is dedicated to rocks and to the queen discipline of mountaineering.".

The MMM Corones at 2,275 m a.s.l., the highest museum of South Tyrol, is dedicated to rocks and to the life of the world-famous alpinist Reinhold Messner. The core themes of the museum can be discovered thanks to fascinating paintings and objects Messner used to collect.

The architecture of the building was planned by Zaha Hadid (1950 - 2016), one of the most innovative and renowned contemporary architects in the world.
