S. Stefano at 961 m a.s.l. is the highest hamlet of the municipality of S. Lorenzo and has 250 inhabitants. Until not so long ago, this village near Riscone was a small rural locality. Today, the village boasts accommodation facilities and is easily accessible. In the village centre stands the SS. Stephan and Vitus Gothic church from 1237.

In an extensive area above S. Stephano on the northern slope of the Plan de Corones lies the "Haidenberg farm", the only managed mountain farm of the municipality of San Lorenzo. It is a popular hiking destination in all seasons and offers a sledge rental service in winter, when a sledge run descends from the farm to S. Stefano.

In the village and its surroundings several sports facilities such as a golf course, a riding stable and the Cron4 swimming pool are available. In the sports zone of Riopratino live different animals waiting to be stroked by visitors.
