Onies has got some 270 inhabitants and is located at 1,144 m. Until 1928 Onies was an independent municipality, afterwards it was affiliated to the market town of San Lorenzo di Sebato.

Onies can be reached via a road starting from Mantana and is located on a steep slope. This is also where the S. Giacomo parish church is located, which was restored in the course of time.

As far as hiking tours are concerned, we recommend you the Anton Schwingshackl trail, taking from Oines via the Rina pastures to the forcella Luson and back to Onies. Schedule about 5 hours for walking the entire trail.
