The Wildlife Park Dobbiaco in Alta Pusteria is worth to be visited in every season of the year. Its vast compound is home to roe deer, raccoons, lynxes and deer, as well as to mouflons, buzzards, pigs and pheasants. A day spent in the Wildlife Park is very exciting and informative not only for children but also for adults.
Amidst a picturesque natural landscape, the wildlife park in Carbonin Vecchia can also be reached via a walking trail from Dobbiaco.
Near the park there is the Gustav Mahler composition house, named after the famous Austrian composer (1860-1911), who spent his summer months enjoying the fresh summer air of the Dolomites in Dobbiaco. The small wooden hut can be visited.
Furthermore there is also the Gustav Mahler Stube, a restaurant that offers dumplings, mushroom dishes and other delicious specialities.
