Winter hike from Terento to the Gols

Enjoy the panorama and soak up the sun in the natural solarium on the Gols

Our winter hike starts in the sunny village of Terenten, at the parking space of the ski lift.

We follow the signs Mühlenweg, behind the farm Oberleitnerhof (left in the picture) we turn right.

After this bridge the path splits, trail no. 8 starts on the right, the Mühlenweg continues on the left.

In summer you can enjoy the mountain panorama on benches and sun beds, which are covered with snow this winter (2020).

From here you can enjoy a 180° mountain panorama over the Dolomites.

If you like you can continue the hike, in about 1 hour you will reach the Astnerbergalm.

The starting point of our hike is the car park at the ski lift in Terento. We follow the Flitschweg path. After the underpass of the ski lift, we turn right behind the Oberleitnerhof farm and follow the signs "Mühlenweg". We walk uphill on the left side of the ski slope. Also at the top station of the ski lift we keep to the left and follow the signs "Mühlenweg". The path winds up the mountain along the meadows, we pass various farms and a stream runs to our left. After a bridge, path no. 8A starts, which leads through the woods in wide hairpin bends and ascends steadily. In February 2020 there were trees on the path, which have been removed in the meantime.

After 6.6 km we have reached the top of the hill and a wonderful view on the Dolomites opens. Here we can find benches and wooden deck chairs, which invite to a comfortable rest. The way back is done along the same path.

If you would like to continue the hike, you can take path no. 8 from the Gols towards east to the Astnerbergalm (about 1 hour).
