Winter hike and sledge run Kradorfer Alm

In winter the hiking path to the rustic Malga Kradorfer mountain hut (1,704 m a.s.l.) at the end of the Val Casies valley turns into a popular sledge run, which is also suited for beginners

We leave our car at the last parking space in the Val Casies valley and start our hike to the Malga Kradorfer mountain hut. Therefore, we follow the same forest road uphill that will later serve as our sledge run: path no. 49. Without great effort we walk through the forest and across the clearings along the right bank of the Casies stream. After a little more than one hour, above the Messner Mountain Hut (already in the area of the Pidigalm, another refreshment point), we reach the small bridge that leads us to the right to the Malga Kradorfer.

After a comfortable rest we are ready for the sledge ride: The toboggan run "Pidigalm" is easy and requires no technical knowledge. This easy winter hike offers unforgettable experiences. The Casies Valley is surrounded by a wonderful nature, an ideal destination in winter for family and sledging excursions.
