By car we reach the parking space Valle d’Altafossa, where our winter hike starts. We follow path no. 15 slightly uphill into the valley. The wide path is levelled, so we have no problems to walk on the snow. At the second junction we keep to the right and don’t walk straight to the Großberghütte mountain hut. Like this we reach the rear part of the Valle d’Altafossa, where the path no. 15 leaves the forest and proceeds to the snowy alpine meadows.

After the bridge over the stream, the circular path proceeds towards south, we walk slightly downhill through the snowy valley with the numerous wooden huts until we reach the Großberghütte, where we enjoy our lunch. Afterwards we take the same route for our way back. There is also a shorter way to come back to the parking space again (30 minutes instead of 90), but we don’t want to finish this beautiful walk so fast…
