The Tilliacher Tal, accessible from Obertilliach, is crossed by a gravel road. This stunning valley is also known as Dorfer Tal but be sure you don't mix it up with the Dorfer Tal in the High Tauern national park. At the barrier at the end of the road and the Tilliacher Tal at 1,680 m a.s.l. lies the Klapfsee, a natural gem in the mountains.
It is a popular destination for hikers and anglers. The fishing rights are held by the family who runs the Unterwöger Hotel. From here you can undertake unforgettable hikes in nature.
A well-known 1-hour hike leads to the Porzehütte at 1,942 m a.s.l., a mountain hut open in the summer months. The Cima Porze (2,589 m a.s.l.) in the Carnic Alps is visible from lake Klapfsee. From the mountain hut you can make tours to the Bärenbadeck at 2,430 m a.s.l. or complete the via ferrata to Cima Porze.
