San Pietro at 1,364 m a.s.l. is immersed in the unspoilt nature of the Valle Aurina. The parish church consecrated to the Saints Peter and Paul was built around 1600.
The area is crossed by several hiking paths leading to numerous mountain huts offering delicious local dishes and to the highest peaks. Hiking enthusiasts couldn't choose a better place for their excursions as nature here is simply amazing. The Valle Aurina is overlooked by 84 mountains above 3,000 metres. Those who prefer staying at lower altitudes can walk to the Samhütten, Taser and Winkler mountain huts.
In winter the verdant alpine meadows turn into a winter wonderland. The hiking paths are accessible also in winter when the landscape here is pure magic. The Valli di Aurina e Tures feature two family-friendly skiing areas where you can practise alpine skiing and snowboarding. Klausberg and Speikboden await you with perfectly prepared slopes.
