The history of the village of Cadipietra is closely linked to the mine of Predoi
The village of Cadipietra at 1,054 m a.s.l. is the administrative centre of the municipality of Aurina and owes its name to the huge stone constructions it is characterised by. In the village centre near the parish church stands the mining museum with the granary of Cadipietra where food was stored in former times. Nowadays, this building houses an interesting collection of wooden objects, paintings, postcards, relics and documents from the 15th century donated by the Enzenberg family.
In Cadipietra you can practise numerous leisure activities. The Klausberg cable car to the eponymous hiking and skiing area starts right in the village centre. In the surroundings of the mountain station on the Klausberg start several hiking paths in summer. An easy hike takes you from the mountain station to the Klaussee lake.
In winter, the Klausberg area turns into a renowned skiing area featuring ski slopes for skiers of all levels. One of the sledge runs is lit in the evening, sledges can be rented at the valley station. Snow is guaranteed during the entire season.
We highly recommend an evening in good company at the après ski pub Hexenkessel at the valley station of the Klausberg cable car.
