The municipality of Vandoies and the Fundres mountains are surrounded by wonderful natural landscapes
The municipality of Fundres at the entrance of the Val Pusteria has around 3,200 inhabitants and includes the hamlets of Vandoies di Sotto, Vandoies di Sopra, Vallarga and Fundres, as well as scattered settlements and farms. The municipal area extends from 722 m a.s.l. up to the Punta Bianca Bassa at 3,263 m a.s.l. in the Monti di Fundres mountains.
We highly recommend undertaking stunning hikes in the subgroup of the Zillertal Alps in spring when the alpine roses bloom. If you are lucky enough, you can even see marmots and ibexes in nature. During your excursion you can stop for a traditional "Marende", a snack with original South Tyrolean speck and other local delicacies at malga Gampiel or other huts in this area. Those who are looking for a multi-day hike can walk along the Alta Via di Fundres, a high-altitude path from Vipiteno to Falzes leading through the Fundres mountains.
The recreational area of Vandoies and the Loden adventure museum are the main attractions of the village. During a relaxing walk along the Pfunderer Höfeweg path, you can discover ancient, now outdated handicrafts.
