Elle was an independent municipality until 1928, when it became a hamlet of the municipality of San Lorenzo di Sebato. The village extends on the slope of Monte Elle, which delimits the basin of Brunico towards west and ensures stunning views of the Val Pusteria. The church was consecrated to the Saints John and Paul. The village centre is composed of houses, whereas the farms are scattered in the surroundings of the locality. On the southern wall of the church hangs a sundial from 1618.
Elle is an excellent starting point for hikes to the Cima Lasta and the Croce di Elle, which can both be reached with skis, snowshoes or by mountain bike. In winter, Elle also features a sledge run for families!
