The earth pyramids of Plata are a stunning natural attraction

Plata, a village at 1,400 m a.s.l. is still heavily characterised by agriculture and forestry as the farms show. The earth pyramids of Plata are a marvellous natural phenomenon you shouldn't miss. They formed some centuries ago following a landslide that hit the road between the Thalerhof farm and the hamlet of Sopranessano. The pillars are the result of erosion occurring in the area. Today, they are a well-known highlight.
The earth pyramids of Plata are easily accessible in a 30-minute walk. Park the car on the marked parking spaces at the beginning of the path, as there are no other available parking spaces along the path or in the proximity of the pyramids.
We highly recommend a tour from the hiking car park of Plata to the Montone, the local mountain of Plata. During your return you should definitely stop for a break at malga Gönner Alm.
