Via the Rif. Porze hut to the Forcella Dignas ridge

Hiking tour at the feet of the almost 2,600 m high Monte Palombino mountain (Porze) via the Klapfsee lake and the Rif. Porze hut to the Forcella Dignas ridge in the Carnic Alps.

Via the gravelled road through the Dorfertal valley we reach the junction Pfaffenboden (1,500 m asl.), starting point of our hike. Here we follow the path no. 461, a forest road through the valley, which proceeds first to Lake Klapfsee. In the blue-green water, the Monte Palombino (Porze) is reflected, a massive rock of the Carnic Crest, which forms the border to the Italian Province of Venetia.

In serpentines the path proceeds further at the south-eastern valley side. First to the Rif. Porze mountain hut at 1,942 m asl. (rest point), then as path no. 459 further uphill to the Forcella Dignas ridge (Tilliacher Joch) where we enjoy a fantastic view on the Monte Palombino. It stretches until the glaciated High Tauern and the Grossglockner. For our way back we take the same route.
