The municipality of Monguelfo Tesido in the centre of the Val Pusteria boasts several hiking destinations like Castel Monguelfo and the malga Taistner Vorderalm

The municipality of Monguelfo Tesido on the Western slope of Monte Costa near the spot where the Rio Casies flows into the Rienza river is a fantastic destination for a relaxing holiday in nature. The around 2,800 inhabitants of the municipality do not live only in Monguelfo and Tesido but also in the hamlets of Novale, Malga di Tesido, Riva di Sotto and Prati.

The central position of Monguelfo Tesido allows visitors to reach the city of Brunico, the upper Val Pusteria with the Dolomites and even the valley bottom of the Val Casies in no time. During your stay you can undertake wonderful alpine hikes to the Salomone and Luta mountains, to the Alpe di Tesido or walk along the Talblick path. In winter you can take the small cable car to Plan de Corones where thrilling ski slopes await you or go on a sleigh ride at Malga Mudler Alm. Experience unique emotions during stunning snowshoe hikes.

Attractions you should not miss are Castel Monguelfo, Castel Thurn and the picturesque chapels of the village. The most well-known inhabitants of the municipality are undoubtedly the painters Simon von Taisten and Paul Troger.
