The village of Lappago at 1,346 m a.s.l. at the end of the Valle di Selva dei Molini has about 160 inhabitants. The valley is enclosed by the Lago di Neves, an artificial lake near Lappago di Sopra surrounded by three popular peaks: the Punta Bianca, the Gran Mesulè and the Cima di Campo. In summer the lake can be discovered during a walk. In the winter months the steep, narrow mountain road to the lake is closed.
Lago di Neves is an ideal starting point for mountain tours, e.g. to the mountain huts rifugio Porro and rifugio Ponte di Ghiaccio. They are accessible also from the Alta Via di Neves, a circular high-altitude path with refreshment areas suitable for hikers in good physical condition.
Those who prefer more relaxing hikes can undertake a stroll along one of the four theme paths of the Valle di Selva in Lappago. We recommend the theme path "La forza dell'acqua" which runs across the gorge of Lappago.
In Lappago natural snow is guaranteed until spring, meaning that skimountaineering tours can be undertaken when the first spring heralds are already blooming. Cross-country skiers will have fun on the perfectly prepared cross-country ski track between Lappago and Selva dei Molini. Enjoy your holidays in a magic winter wonderland!
