Selva dei Molini is situated at the entrance of the eponymous valley which branches off towards west near Molini di Tures. The village of Selva dei Molini is the administrative centre of this valley characterised by wonderful mills, sawmills and mountain brooks descending from the Zillertal Alps.
Shortly before the village of Selva dei Molini lies lake Meggima, the artificial lake of Selva dei Molini where recreational fishing can be practised. Meggima also features an adventure park for children and the Tamarix Family Park complete with a conveyor belt which takes children to the beginner slopes in the surroundings. The sledge runs near the village are suitable for sledges, "böckl", snow tubes and hay sledges.
One of the most sought-after sledge run starts at malga Weizgruberalm near Selva dei Molini. Cross-country skiers will enjoy the 16-km long cross-country ski track between Selva dei Molini and Lappago.
Interesting: in 2011, Selva dei Molini was the scene of the German reality TV show "Die Alm".
