The hamlet of Riscone lies at the foot of the well-known Plan de Corones skiing area near the city of Brunico
Riscone has about 1,300 inhabitants and overlooks the city of Brunico from a hill at 956 m a.s.l. The village owes its name to the nobles of Rischon who built this fortress and used it as a residence for 400 years. Riscone extends at the foot of the Plan de Corones where the Concordia bell, which rings every day at noon, as well as an impressive panoramic platform, are situated.
The 32 modern ski lifts of the Plan de Corones skiing area take winter sports enthusiasts to the 105 km of well-prepared ski slopes. Snowboarders can have fun in the snow park, whereas skimo athletes will enjoy the ski mountaineering itinerary.
From the Plan de Corones you enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the Zillertal Alps, the Vedrette di Ries and the Dolomites. The ski lifts of the Plan de Corones run both in winter and summer when this mountain turns into a beautiful hiking area. We highly recommend a walk along the panoramic path and the Wiesenweg path in the village where several Italian football teams train each year.
The sports zone of Riopratino in Riscone is complete with a golf course of the Golfclub Val Pusteria, a 9-hole Open Country Course, the Cron4 swimming pool, an educational farm and a riding stable. In Riscone you are spoilt for choice!
