Fundres Valley Path

The path of the Val di Fundres leads us through the stunning natural landscape of the valley

We start our hike at the train station of Vandoies and cross the centre of
Vandoies di Sotto (Niedervintl). Behind the Raifeissenbank we take the path of the Val di Fundres (signpost no. 4). Initially, the easy itinerary runs along the shores of the Rio di Fundres, then it continues along the asphalt road of Serga. After a short section along this asphalt road, we return to the unpaved path towards Vallarga.

After a 3-km long walk we arrive at the village of Vallarga (Weitental) surrounded by wonderful, blooming meadows. The most important building in the village centre is the parish church dedicated to St. Thomas. The path of the Val di Fundres proceeds along the shores of the brook and crosses it near the residential area of Hinterdrittel. The next two kilometres follow the asphalt road of the Valle di Fundres. We need to walk by the roadside as there is no pavement.

At the farms of Scaleres on the eastern side of the valley we continue on a hiking path and reach Fundres. Here we take the bus (rides every hour on weekdays) to return to our starting point.

Please note: the 2-km long section along the asphalt road of the valley requires caution!
