The Malga Fane in Valles is a rustic alpine village embedded in the fascinating natural landscape of the Valle di Valles. This complex consists of 30 buildings including houses, hay barns, a chapel and three farm restaurants.
Built in the Middle Ages as a lazaret for people affected by plague and cholera, this idyllic village is nowadays one of the most appreciated hiking destinations among families. It is also an ideal starting point for wonderful alpine hikes, such as to
Mt Picco della Croce (3,134 m a.s.l.), the highest summit of this area. The alpine village is situated on an extensive alpine pasture with refreshment points and specifically-tailored areas for children.
The most important attractions of this area are definitely the Fane and the milk festivals. Malga Fane is accessible via the so-called "Milchweg", an educational path devoted to milk and cows. Malga Fane is also the starting point of the famous "Wurmaul-Umrundung", a ski mountaineering race held every year in April. In winter you can have fun sledding from Malga Fane to the end of the valle di Valles.
