San Vito is home to one of the most spectacular natural gems of South Tyrol

San Vito at 1,350 m a.s.l. with its 70 inhabitants, is accessible via Ferrara and Braies di Dentro. The main attractions of the village are the parish church from the 14th century and the mountain cemetery with the grave of the Dolomite pioneer Viktor Wold von Glanvell.
The village of San Vito lies along the path leading to Lake Braies, one of the natural highlights of the municipality. This body of water at 1,494 m a.s.l. can be discovered during a relaxing walk along its shores. Furthermore, it is also the starting point of several hiking and skimo itineraries, including the high-altitude path Alta Via delle Dolomiti no. 1 and the route up to the Croda del Becco, from where you can admire this wonderful lake.
In winter, San Vito is quite shadowy. For this reason, we recommend undertaking winter hikes at higher altitudes, e.g. to the Moserhof. Cross-country skiers can have fun on the tracks of the Prato Piazza high plateau.
