Every January, the village of San Candido in the Upper Val Pusteria is the scene of a wonderful festival. Artists can unleash their creativity by creating impressive masterpieces. Thanks to the low temperatures, the water ices immediately and the sculptors can model their artworks by relying only on a few tools (the use of electrical tools is prohibited).

Once the sculptures are finished, locals and tourists have the pleasure to evaluate them and to decide the winner of the festival! Following the conclusion of the event, the sculptures are not destroyed but can instead be admired by locals and tourists until the first sunrays make the snow melt.
