Bathing lakes

The Val Pusteria boasts two stunningly beautiful bathing lakes, one in each part of the valley

The Val Pusteria features two bathing lakes: one in South Tyrol (western part) and one in East Tyrol (eastern part). Lake Issengo is one of the last biotopes of South Tyrol. From June to September you can see many children sliding down the waterslide, splashing in the fountain and playing at the playground, whereas their parents relax on the lawn by the lake.

Lake Tristach near the eponymous village is famous all over the region. This body of water at the foot of the Lienz Dolomites in Austria is also a popular starting point for hikes and walks along the numerous paths in the surroundings. The lido of lake Tristach is open during the summer months.

Other marvellous lakes in the Val Pusteria are Lake Braies and Lake Landro in the eponymous valley. These natural jewels with their sunny beaches attract numerous visitors every year. However, due to their high altitude, their water temperature is not suitable for swimming. The Neualpl lakes and lake Laserszee are stunning natural gems, as well as highly sought-after hiking destinations.
