The Speikboden skiing area in the Valle Aurina after Campo Tures is not only a famous winter sports paradise but also an ideal starting point for summer hikes. Today we start our early summer hike at the mountain station of the Speikboden chairlift (2,000 m a.s.l.) near malga Speikboden. From there we ascend along path no. 27b to the Trajer Lacke, a small slope with some mountain lakes. Now in early summer, the entire area is characterised by blooming rhododendrons, gentians and anemones.
We continue along path no. 27b and then take path no. 26 to the Sonnklar Nock at 2,390 m a.s.l. We leave the forest limit behind us and arrive at the peak where we enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the Dolomites, the snowy peaks of the Zillertal Alps and the Alti Tauri. Having reached the nearby Sonnklarhütte hut (mountain station of the chairlift), we descend to malga Speikboden where our circular hike ends.
