Campill, an almost unspoilt village, is situated at 1,398 m a.s.l. It still preserves its ancient traditions and was first mentioned as "Campil" (pronounced as "Ciampeil") in written documents from 1312.
Campill is embedded in the Puez Odle nature park and one of the alpinist localities of the Alpine club. The villages being part of this project commit in preserving local traditions and landmarks. Special focus is devoted to promoting sustainable tourism. Nature and hiking lovers can choose between numerous hiking itineraries running through verdant meadows, fields and forests. One of the most sought-after hiking destinations is the Passo delle Erbe which is accessible both on foot and by motorbike.
The Les “Viles“ are a unique attraction of this area. These ancient settlements can be discovered in depth during an excursion in the valle dei mulini, an outdoor museum.
Tip: we highly recommend undertaking a sunrise hike to Mt Sass de Putia. Having arrived at the top of one of the most important Dolomite peaks, relax and let the sunrays caress your face while you are sitting on the rocks.
