Grande Giro delle Dolomiti on motorbike

The Grande Giro delle Dolomiti delights motorcyclists with wonderful views

If you have ever dreamt of spending unforgettable moments in the Dolomites while enjoying the impressive landscape of these bizzarre rock formations, we recommend undertaking the Grande Giro delle Dolomiti on your motorbike.

The tour starts in the city of Brunico from where you take the state road (strada statale) towards Bressanone, through the Valle Isarco and to Chiusa. From here, you enter the Val Gardena. At the end of the valley, take the road up to the Passo Sella, a saddle at 2,187 m which connects the Val Gardena to the village of Canazei in the Val di Fassa. From here, you will enjoy an impressive view of Mt Sassolungo (2, 485 m a.s.l.), of Mt Col Rodella (2,485 m a.s.l.) and the Piz Gralba (2,974 m a.s.l.) in the Sella group.

Cross the passo Pordoi at 2,248 m a.s.l. which delights you with a marvellous view of Mt Sass Pordoi in the Sella group, the Sass de Forca and Mt Piz Boé at 3,152 m a.s.l. Then, proceed to Cortina d'Ampezzo by driving past lake Misurina - a body of water you should definitely visit. The lake is overlooked by the Tre Cime di Lavaredo massif, Monte Piana, the Cadini group and Monte Cristallo, as well as by the impressive Marmarole and Sorapiss peaks in the south. In Misurina, take the road back to Dobbiaco, the starting point and destination of this tour, where a wonderful day full of unforgettable experiences comes to an end.

Level of difficulty: challenging
