The hamlet of Plata at 1,575 m a.s.l. belongs to the municipality of Falzes. It is accessible from Falzes via a mountain road lined by several farms.

The village is composed of mountain farms and has 50 inhabitants. It is a perfect starting point for hikes on the high plateau overlooking the strada del sole of the Val Pusteria. From the Bärentaler Hof you can climb the Bärentaler Spitze. The Cima Plata and Monte Sommo can be conquered thanks to the Alta Via di Fundres, a high-altitude path.

If you prefer undertaking relaxing strolls we recommend walking along the Kirchweg path and the theme path "Steine erzählen", dedicated to stones. Plata is a quiet oasis immersed in a wonderful, almost unspoilt natural landscape.
