Maranza is easily accessible via a panoramic road
The village of Maranza is immersed in the meadows and fields of a sunny terrace overlooking the Val Pusteria and Rio di Pusteria. Maranza extends on an altitude of 1,414 m a.s.l. and is easily accessible thanks to a panoramic road and a cable car starting from Rio Pusteria.
Monte Guzzo, also known as "Gitsch" among the locals, is an impressive, 2,500 m high peak with a panoramic platform. From here, you can admire the surrounding mountains, including the Dolomites, the Ötztal Alps and the Zillertal Alps. The entire area is a true hiking paradise.
In winter skiing enthusiasts will have fun on the well-prepared ski slopes of the Gitschberg-Jochtal skiing area, whereas snowboarders can try the rails and jumps in the snow park. Experienced skiers should definitely try the "Nesselwiese"-slope. Children can take their first steps on skis on the easy "Baby"-slope near the church.
End a thrilling day on the ski slopes in one of the Après-ski bars in Maranza or in the tennis hall where different events are held in the evening.
We highly recommend spending an afternoon at the mini golf court and the AlpinPools indoor swimming pool in Maranza. In summer the Valle d'Altafossa with its traditional mountain huts, is a beautiful hiking destination.
