In the early morning hours we start our hike from the Ütia de Bürz hut at Passo delle Erbe (2,006 m a.s.l.) to Forcella di Putia (also known as Furcela de Pütia, Peitlerscharte). We walk along a comfortable unpaved path (no. 8A) leading to Malga Munt de Fornella to our right. The last unpaved section on the verdant meadows of Campaccio is followed by a narrower and demanding path across the screes at the foot of Sass de Putia. The path finally descends to the fork with path no. 4 which ascends along a steep, challenging slope to the 2,361m high Forcella di Putia.

The Forcella di Putia separates Sass de Putia and the Odle di Eores and is not only a wonderful rest point but also a fork where you can choose between many different paths: the ascent along steep hairpin bends and a secured section with metal ropes up to the panoramic Sass de Putia peak at 2,875 m a.s.l., the short traverse at Rifugio Genova (2,306 m a.s.l.) or the circular tour around the massif. We chose the third option for our hike.

We descend from the mountain pass along path (initially no. 4B and no. 35 after) and continue walking through wonderful high alpine meadows towards Malga Ütia Vaćiara and the Rifugio Göma. Path no. 8B takes us from Passo Göma to Rifugio Ütia Göma and then to Malga Munt de Fornella where we conclude our circular hike. From there we return to Rifugio Ütia de Bürz at Passo delle Erbe, the starting point of our hike, in a few minutes walk.
