With Postbus, S-Bahn, and ÖBB trains, there are many ways to get around East Tyrol using public transport
The public transport system in Tyrol is divided into different tariff zones. Within these zones, any form of public transport can be used. Single, daily, weekly, monthly, or annual tickets can be purchased for one or more zones. VVT tickets are valid for all bus, train and tram lines throughout Tyrol. Single and daily tickets can be bought at ticket machines, at stations, and from bus drivers.
Taking bicycles on board is free on all VVT services. The conditions of carriage of the respective transport company apply, and the transport of bicycles is not always guaranteed. For transporting bicycles on long-distance trains and regional trains operated by companies other than VVT, a special ticket must be purchased for the bicycle (VVT Tagesticket Fahrrad). Dogs travel free of charge but must be on a lead and wear a muzzle (with the exception of guide dogs for people with physical disabilities).
