The first edition of the biathlon World Championships in Anterselva dates back to 1975 when this sport was still a niche sport. Over time however, it acquired a constantly increasing number of spectators and athletes and now has a permanent spot in TV schedules. The enthusiasm for biathlon has reached incredibly high levels and is likely to grow even more.
Biathlon and Anterselva became inseparable in 2007 when this village was the venue of the World Championships, an occasion for which the stadium was completely modernised. The last edition of the biathlon World Championships in Anterselva dates back to 2020. However, in 2026 the biathlon competitions of the Olympic Winter Games will be held in this stadium.
