The Gustav Mahler Wildlife Park in Dobbiaco in Alta Pusteria is worth to be visited in every season of the year. Its vast compound is home to roe deer, raccoons, lynxes and deer, as well as to mouflons, buzzards, pigs and pheasants. A day spent in the Gustav Mahler Wildlife Park is very exciting and informative not only for children but also for adults.
The park was named after the famous Austrian composer Gustav Mahler (1860-1911), who spent his summer months enjoying the fresh summer air of the Dolomites in Dobbiaco. His composition house, a small wooden hut, can be visited in the park. Furthermore, also the Gustav Mahler Stube is part of the facility, a restaurant that offers dumplings, mushroom dishes and other delicious specialities.
