The almost 3,000 m high Monte Baranci (Haunold, in German), a mountain of the Sesto Dolomites in the Alta Val Pusteria valley, is a popular excursion destination for families. A high rope course for children and barefoot lakes as well as a tubing course and the first South Tyrolean summer toboggan run can be found here.
The chairlift takes you up to 1,500 m a.s.l., where you can decide whether you would like to return to the valley by the chairlift again or by the Funbob, an almost 2 km long summer sledge track and unique adventure both for kids and adults. It overcomes an altitude difference of 314 m. Kids older than 8 years are allowed to drive on their own, while children under this age can experience this adventure accompanied by an adult.
By the way: in summer, Mount Baranci enchants with a special weekly evening called "Funbob by night". The Gigante Baranci Mountain Hut offers Tyrolean delicacies and live music and by the Funbob you can return to the valley until 10 pm. An unforgettable experience!
