Riscone is located at the foot of the famous Plan de Corones and close to the chief city of the Val Pusteria, that is to say Brunico.

Riscone is located at 956 m asl on a hill chain above the city of Brunico and has got some 1,300 inhabitants. The village owes its name to the aristocrats Rischon, who had a castle built, which they have been inhabiting for a period of 400 years. Moreover Riscone is located at the foot of the local mountain of Brunico, which is the skiing and hiking area Plan de Corones, crowned by the Concordia church, ringing every noon. Worth noticing is also the panoramic platform at the top of this mountain.
Particularly in winter Riscone is an animated centre, offering 105 km of well-groomed ski slopes, served by 32 km of lift facilities. The Plan de Corones also offers a trail for ski touring as well as a snowboard park.
Zillertal Alps, Vedrette di Ries-Aurina and Dolomites, not only in winter the panoramic view is amazing, also in summer the hiking mountain attracts a large number of visitors, as some of the lift facilities are also in service in summertime. The panoramic trail, however, is an alternative for those who prefer staying in the valley. By the way, Riscone is also a popular destination for famous Italian football clubs, who have repeatedly chosen Riscone for their summer training camp.
Also the sports zone Reiperting at Riscone has got a lot to offer in all the seasons. This is where you can find the Golfclub Pustertal, an open country course with 9 holes, the indoor and outdoor pool Cron4, an animal park and a horse riding stable. Boredom in Riscone? No way!
