It is a good choice to pass one’s holidays not far from Plan de Corones in the Val Pusteria, as this a real eldorado for all those who love winter sports. It is also the largest skiing region in this region. Plan de Corones includes the localites of Brunico, S. Vigilio di Marebbe, Valdaora, S. Lorenzo di Sebato, Chienes, Falzes, Perca, Rasun in Valle Anterselva, Terento, Monguelfo, Tesido, Anterselva, Valle di Casies, Gais-Villa Ottone as well as San Martino in Badia.
The peak of Plan de Corones is situated at an altitude of 2,275 m asl and it is accessible by a modern ski lift. Altogether there are 32 ski lifts and 105 km of ski slopes. The Plan di Corones is accessible from three different localities. The hourly carrying capacity of the facilities are about 62,000 persons.
There are not only slopes for advanced skiers, but also for beginners. Skiing, snowboarding, carving or telemarking… everything is possible! An attraction for snowboarders is the snowpark with half pipe, where they can try different moves. Moreover this ski region features different modern and efficient snow-making equipment, so that you can also ski on the southern slopes until spring.
Another highlight is the new ski lift “Piculin”, the hourly carrying capacity of which is about 2,400 persons. The altitude difference of the corresponding ski slope, which leads you into the village of Piculin (Alta Badia), is about 500 metres on a length of 2 km. So the dream of connecting Alta Badia to Plan de Corones came true!
And of course there is also Après-ski!! On Plan de Corones, there are lots of possibilities to make a stop for a snack and a drink, or even to dance and celebrate.
We also recommend you a stop in the “K1″ at Riscone near Brunico, where the Après ski bar is situated, which is also popular with inhabitants. This is where you can celebrate your skiing vacations!!!
