The two skiing areas Gitschberg and Jochtal are connected by a gondola cableway since the winter season 2011/12.

In this skiing region you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding, and you have several other possibilities regarding your leisure time as well. Not only ski slopes, but also indoor tennis courts, facilities for ice climbing and snow shoeing are offered. By the way, starting from winter 2011/12, the skiing areas Gitschberg and Jochtal are going to be united and form one larger area.
It comprises 16 lift facilities, of which 5 goldola cableways, 5 ski lifts, 1 small ski lift and 2 magic carpets. At the top of the Gitschberg, you have a fantastic 360° view on more than 500 mountain peaks. A very special information panel will provide information about the surrounding peaks. However, on more than 40 km of ski slopes, most of which are particularly suitable for beginners, you will for sure enjoy skiing…
These two skiing areas, accessible from Maranza and Valles, offer you also several taverns where you can stop to have a bite to eat or have a drink. In unique atmosphere you can enjoy local delicacies…
And after a long day on the ski runs you should shake a leg in one of the Après-Ski bars, for example in the “Igloo”, the “Schupfe” or the “Mühle”. Of course there is also a shuttle service!
Moreover there is a toboggan run and a fun park (Valles). And… don’t worry if you meet a vampire… but only on Tuesdays… as there is the popular “dance of the vampires”, a huge party at the mountain station of Jochtal. On Thursday evenings, the Gitschhütte at the Gitschberg is open for those who love ski touring.
