The municipality of Brunico stretches round the local mountain Plan de Corones anf offers a series of highlights such as the MMM Ripa.

Brunico is located in the centre of the Val Pusteria, it is the chief village of the district and the main meeting point in the holiday area. Beside the city itself, the municipality comprises the villages of San Giorgio, Stegona, Villa Santa Caterina, Ameto, Teodone and Riscone and comprises a territory from 812 m in the valley up to the summit of the Plan de Corones at 2,277 m. The local mountain, that is to say the Plan de Corones, dominates the municipality and attracts the attention of those who love to spend active holidays the whole year round. By the way, this mountain has repeatedly attracted the Giro d’Italia, the first-class cycling race.

The South Tyrolean Folklore Museum in Teodone, the MMM Ripa that will open in June 2011, as well as the City Museum of Brunico are some examples of the cultural offer Brunico provides. Moreover it is connected to the cycling trails of the Val Pusteria and the Valle di Tures and Aurina. A further attraction is the Nature Fitness Park Plan de Corones Dolomiti, the largest Nordic Walking Park of Europe with courses in every stage of difficulty.

Beside the summer concert highlight, the Stegona Market and the city festival, and not at least the charming Christmas Market are the main events taking place in the lovely municipality.
