Mineral Museum Kirchler

The Mineral Museum in San Giovanni in the Valle Aurina introduces its visitors into the fascinating world of rocks of the Zillertal Alps

In San Giovanni in the Valle Aurina there is a very interesting museum exhibiting on a surface of 300 m² many minerals of the surrounding mountain. It hosts the findings of the passionate collector Artur Kirchler, who collected more than 950 rocks in the area of the Zillertal Alps and the High Tauern.

Very interesting are the biggest smoky quartz rocks in South Tyrol as well as a very rare crystal found in the mine of Predoi. Moreover, in the multimedia room of the Mineral Museum Kirchler you can learn a lot about the forming, searching and finding of minerals, as well as about their medicinal benefits.
