Perca

The sunny municipality of Perca belongs to the Vedrette di Ries nature park and stands out thanks to its beautiful earth pillars.

The municipality of Perca has got some 1,450 inhabitants and stretches from 892 m in the valley to 3,105 m. Actually Perca is only few km wide, but includes a considerable drop of about 2,000 metres between the meadows at the Rienza river and the mountain peaks of the Vedrette di Ries. Part of the municipality is not only the main village, but also Sopranessano, Nessano, Rio Liccio, Plata and the hamlets in the beautiful Val di Vile, that is to say Montevila, Vila di Sopra and Vila di Sotto.

Belonging to the municipality of the Vedrette di Ries, Perca is ideal for hiking and mountaineering. The Montone or Monte Nalle are only two of the possible mountains that you can conquer from Perca. Moreover it is located along the cycling route of the Val Pusteria, suitable for a tour with the whole family. In winter the nearby Plan de Corones attracts those who love winter sports. By the way, the area of Perca has already been settled very early, which is testified by a milestone positioned at the church. Reason for the early settlement might be its sun-drenched location.
