Mt Sonnklar Nock circular hike

This easy walking tour starts at the mountain station of the Speikboden Cable Car near Campo Tures

The Speikboden area in the Valle Aurina is not only in winter a popular destination - in summer the mountain station of the cable car is the ideal starting point for hikes. At the Speikboden mountain hut (2,000 m a.s.l.) near the mountain station of the cable car, we follow the marker n° 27b, which leads us to a little hill after a short but steep ascent. On this hill, Lake Trejer and some other small mountain lakes are located. Now, at the beginning of summer, the area is covered with blooming alpenroses, gentians and anemones.

We continue along the path no. 27b and then towards Mt Sonnklar Nock (n° 26). We leave the timber line behind us and reach the summit (2,390 m) where we enjoy a gorgeous view from the Dolomites until the snow-covered peaks of the Zillertal Alps and the High Tauern. At the near Sonnklarhütte mountain hut (mountain station of the chair lift) the descent starts, straight down to the Speikboden mountain hut, where our circular walk ends.
