Alpine Zoo in Assling

In the Alpine Zoo of Assling in the Val Pusteria children and adults can discover and learn a lot about many different animals living in the Alpine area.

On a surface of about 80,000 square metres the Alpine Zoo in Assling counts more than 100 different Alpine animal species like marmots, raccoons, lynxes, wild pigs, martens, eagles, capricorns, roe deer, chamois, ducks, snakes and fish. Of course, sometimes visitors need to have some patience until they get to see the most timid animals, like for example the beautiful big deer.

Some animals may even be fed and petted at the petting zoo. Visiting the Alpine Zoo in Assling is not only very exciting but also very informative. On the forest theme path, for example, children can learn a lot about the protective function of the forest in a playful manner. In summer, a lot of fun and action is guaranteed at the Fun bob. Moreover, there is a big adventure playing ground, where children can have a lot of fun while their moms and dads explore the farmer’s shop.

Opening hours:
Daily from the end of April until 31 October from 9 am to 7 pm
Fun bob: from the end of April until the end of October, during high season daily from 11 am to 5 pm
